Cream of 2025

Perth Photographer Taya Reid - Year In Review

Artist Note:

Any client who booked me this year, the year of the cancer, was taking a risk. Some were postponed, some were lucky, all were flexible, kind and compassionate. Your patronage kept me sane and balanced and feeling human in a thudding headache of a year. So thank you.

As ever, I am conflicted about the liberties these photos showcase when much of the world burns, figuratively and literally. Count your blessings and hold them close.

For Me

Photos taken for myself, whether fired off during a client shoot or just from compulsion.

Take Me To The Beach

Where I earn my bread and butter.

Frame It

Some snaps deserve to be printed.

Everyone

The extended family shoot is a strange beast, but I love it.

Mama

One child at a time, I cycle through these shots at almost every session, because for many mums a photograph with their child is a rare thing.

Breeding

It was a clucky, broody, bumpy year.

Business Time

It was the year of the Content Flow but nothing was really flowing because of chemo. We got there in the end.

Straight Up Shots

Portraits of kids and families, because that's what I do best.

Lovers

As I say to the kids, grown-ups being absolutely disgusting.

My Heart

Not the rollicking social life of 2024, but we still got out there and did our thing.
